Since February is the shortest month, I thought we'd try something short for our next book. So let's open up the floor to suggestions under 200 pages. In keeping with the theme of the month, this post will also be short.
My pick for February: The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett (121 pages, 2006). It chronicles the events that transpire when the queen takes up reading: "A masterpiece of comic brevity" says the Observer.
Alright, I was going to make a smartass suggestion but I've controlled the urge and will suggest The Curious Case of Benjamin Button only because I like reading the book before seeing the movie, and I haven't seen the movie yet! And at 64 pages I figure I can probably squeeze that into February...
And in case I forget to post in the future I'm suggesting Christopher Moore's Fool for an upcoming month as well!
Think of it as an ongoing book club meeting. Join the conversation by reading the books, contributing a review, commenting on another review - or even by simply reading the blog.

Perhaps Fool can be an April pick.
